What is Spam?

Spam is unwanted junk email. Most spam is for advertisements of products where they want you to buy something. Another type of spam includes phishing emails where the email looks like it is from an official web site like a bank or eBay. It tries to trick you to going to a fake site that looks like the real one, so that you will enter in private information such as user name and password. Some spam is scams where people try to get you to give money or account numbers. Other spam emails are viruses. These always have attachments.
